Caravans to Castles
The built environment profoundly affects our lives, both inspiring and reflecting our daily needs and aspirations.
This statement forms the basis for a new body of work. Through wordplay associations, a first playful collection takes a look at Cardboard City and the ubiquitous House Chain.
Crafted in silver, each City piece uses the familiarity of corrugated cardboard and box shapes to evoke both the structure of rudimentary shelters and the form of urban buildings in the landscape. The House Chains are created from simple silver outline ‘drawings’, linked to form fluid necklaces that have no apparent end.
